Manifest

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 9, 2026 · Draft — under legal review

These terms govern use of Manifest, our AI app builder for K-12 classrooms. By creating a teacher account or using Manifest on behalf of a school, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Student Privacy Notice.

1. Accounts and eligibility

Teacher accounts are for educators and school staff acting on behalf of a school. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. Students do not hold accounts; they access the service through a classroom you create and manage, using credentials you distribute.

2. Your classroom, your responsibility

You control the roster, the class PINs, and whether the class is open. You represent that you have your school’s authorization to use Manifest with students and to consent to the limited collection of student information described in the Student Privacy Notice, and that you will enter only the minimum roster information the product asks for (display names).

3. Ownership of student work

The school and its students own the content they create — prompts, conversations, apps, and files. We claim no rights in student work beyond the limited license needed to host, process, and display it to provide the service. Student content is never used to train AI models and never used for advertising. You can export or permanently delete everything for a class at any time from your dashboard.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use the service to violate law or the rights of others, to attempt to access other classrooms’ or users’ data, to probe or disrupt the service, or to have students submit sensitive personal information into their projects. You’ll supervise student use consistent with your school’s policies.

5. AI-generated content

Apps and responses are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. Review AI output before relying on it in instruction. We provide teacher monitoring tools, but classroom judgment stays with the teacher.

6. Service availability and changes

We may update, add, or remove features. We’ll use reasonable efforts to keep the service available during school hours but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. If we discontinue the schools product, we will give schools reasonable notice and a window to export class data.

7. Termination and data disposition

You may stop using the service and delete your classes at any time; permanent class deletion erases student accounts, apps, conversations, and files. If your account is terminated for cause, we will still honor the school’s right to its data as described in the Student Privacy Notice and our data retention policy.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts paid by your school for the service in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. District agreements

If your district or school signs a data privacy agreement (DPA) with us, that agreement controls over these terms wherever the two conflict with respect to student data.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Questions: legal@madewithmanifest.com.
